Don't you love the shirt!!! It makes it easier to locate you if you happen to die along the side of the road. We did 7.5 miles in 1 hour and 34 minutes. That's a 12:34 "easy pace". Next week, I think I'm going for 6 miles at a more consistent pace. I'm going to try to do more running with fewer walk breaks.
I never was sure if I would like the idea of a group run, especially with strangers. Now, I think I'm addicted. I think I like it when they say, "Wow, it sure took me a lot longer to pass you this week than it did last week." Or, there's the "You're almost there!" line right before you get to the turn around on an out and back. It is kind of fun to watch those of us at the back of the pack celebrate when we get to the halfway mark. You would think we just won a race.
As I get closer to my goal weight, I love who I am becoming. It's not just that I'm getting healthier. It's that I'm getting stronger mentally and physically.
That's one of this week's pictures. Notice that the shirt is way too big on me. I'm having to hold a bunch of it in my hand. Next week, I'll wear a smaller shirt.
In case you're wondering, I've lost a total of 54 pounds, 29 of them with the Biggest Winner Team. I weigh 196 lbs. I only have 11 more lbs. to go until I will no longer be classified as overweight. I can't believe it.
To think, this was me not that long ago at 250 pounds. I think I like the 196 pound me better.
